Hi, I am Ben Ek
My passion for visual storytelling began on the beaches of Southern California. At just 15, I picked up a camera to film local surfers—what started as a hobby quickly grew into a career. By the time I was 20, I had shot, edited, and produced several surf films that were distributed worldwide, taking me around the globe to capture some of the sport’s most iconic athletes and destinations.
As my craft evolved, I expanded into wedding and event filmmaking, bringing the same artistic eye and intuitive sense of timing that defined my early surf films. I love capturing emotion, movement, and story in a timeless, cinematic style, and I’m grateful to have built a strong clientele throughout Orange County, Los Angeles, and San Diego.
Over the past 25 years, I’ve built a diverse body of work spanning weddings, sports, music, and nationally aired commercial productions. No matter the project—an intimate ceremony or a major brand shoot—I approach every job with excitement, dedication, and my trademark smile.
